Lincoln County Pioneer Museum
Hendricks is the home of the Lincoln Co. Pioneer Museum which is set up to depict a life-style in the years of the late 1800's & early 1900's. It has a kitchen reminiscent of an era gone by - cozy and nostalgic.

Also, there is a sitting room, bedroom, a 1910 parlor, plus a country store and a beautiful display room. Another large room displays buggies - a walking "breaking plow" an old 1872 steam engine, farm tools, etc.

Near the Museum proper there is a country school and a rustic chalet-type building. The chalet building contains a beautiful doll display, old items from the county courthouse, and old Millinery Shop, and artifacts from the Hendricks Opera House. The stage curtain in the Opera House has names of advertisers that take memories back many years.

The museum is open Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, 2 PM to 5 PM and 7PM to 9 PM, May through October. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. For special tours write or call Mrs. Allen Johnson, 406 Brook St. (507)275-3537, or call Mrs Edwin Nelson (507)275-3505. Or write: Pioneer Museum, Mrs. Allen Johnson, 610 W.
